A driver with 4.92 stars over 6,000 trips starts from zero the day they switch apps, and a landlord or lender has no way to see years of reliable work. Joseph in Nairobi earned his reputation one five-star trip at a time, and it is locked inside one company's servers. Gig workers carry their reputation in screenshots nobody trusts.
What exists and what is new
Closest: research and policy papers on portable ratings, with no product we found. Platforms keep ratings private, and generic credential wallets cannot check a screenshot. New: verified, portable reputation the worker owns, checked by AI against platform formats and cross-checked for consistency, then signed as an attestation any viewer can verify with a QR code, with the worker choosing what each viewer sees.
The data it runs on
The worker's own data: screenshots of rating and trip pages, data exports platforms provide on request, and earnings statements, plus a phone number and name to match. Only derived, signed facts are kept (rating, trip count, active since, earnings band); original files are deleted after checks unless the worker chooses to keep them.
1. The mission
Your work history belongs to you. Every gig worker should carry their earned reputation from app to app, and into the rest of life: renting a home, getting a loan, being trusted on day one.
2. Why people can't resist it
Pride made visible. A beautiful passport that says "6,120 trips, 4.92" honours years of hard work.
Doors open faster. Skipping a new app's probation or getting a flat approved is real money.
It keeps growing. Monthly updates and milestone stamps make you want to keep it fresh.
3. How it works for real
Import: screenshots, data exports (platforms must provide your data on request under laws like GDPR in the EU and UK and Kenya's Data Protection Act), and earnings statements.
Read: a vision model (Gemini 2.5 Flash or GPT-4o mini via OpenRouter) extracts rating, trip count, dates, name and phone from screenshots; exports are parsed deterministically.
Verify: consistency checks (trips per week versus earnings, rating precision, date ranges), layout matching against known app versions, image forensics for edits, and name and phone match through a one-time SMS code. A frontier LLM (Claude or GPT) writes the plain-language report.
Sign: the derived facts are signed as an attestation (EAS on Base), gas sponsored, with a smart wallet behind email or phone login so crypto stays invisible.
Share: each viewer gets a QR or link that reveals only the fields the worker chose, with an expiry. Platforms can query passports per request through x402.
4. Cost per use
Vision read of 3 to 5 screenshots: about $0.01 to $0.03. Report writing: about $0.01. Attestation on Base: about $0.002, sponsored. Monthly refresh: about $0.02. A passport costs under $0.10 to create and pennies to keep updated.
Free for workers, always: passport, updates, sharing. Paid by viewers: platforms, landlords and lenders pay $0.50 to $2 per verified check, or a monthly plan for high volume.
5. Growth loop
Workers share passports in driver and rider WhatsApp groups when someone gets accepted faster. Every landlord or lender who scans a QR sees the verify page and asks the next applicant for one. Platforms competing for experienced workers start accepting passports, which brings more workers.
6. Risks and guardrails
Forgery: layout and forensic checks, consistency across sources, phone match, and lower confidence when only screenshots exist.
Privacy: the worker chooses each field per viewer, every share expires, and access can be revoked instantly. No exact earnings unless turned on.
Platform terms: only the worker's own data, imported by the worker. No scraping of platform accounts.
Lending: the passport is evidence, not a credit decision. General information only, not financial advice.
7. MVP build order
Screenshot upload and vision extraction of rating, trips and dates for two popular app layouts.
Consistency checks and a plain-language report.
Signed attestation on Base Sepolia and the passport card with QR.
Viewer verify page with per-viewer field controls and expiry.
Monthly refresh reminders and the update timeline.
