Blueprint

1. The mission

End group chat indecision. Everyone gives quick input, Settle It picks the option that makes the whole group happiest, explains why, and holds the booking. Fairness memory makes sure the same person doesn't always give in.

2. Why people can't resist it

Relief from responsibility. Nobody has to be the one who picks and gets blamed.
Being counted. Seeing your own happiness bar, and your vetoes respected, feels fair.
Visible justice. "You compromised last time, you get 1.3x this time" is a tiny reward people love.

3. How it works for real

Voice notes. Speech-to-text (Whisper class or Gemini Flash audio) transcribes 10-second notes in any language.
Preference extraction. A fast cheap model (Gemini Flash or DeepSeek via OpenRouter) turns notes and taps into structured weights: cuisine, budget, distance, dietary needs, hard vetoes.
Options. Places, films or trips from partner APIs and maps data, filtered by hard constraints (halal, vegetarian, budget cap, opening times).
Scoring. Plain code: each person's satisfaction 0 to 100 per option, multiplied by fairness weights. The pick maximises total happiness with a floor so nobody is miserable (a maximin guard).
Explanation. A frontier LLM (Claude or GPT) writes the short "why" in the group's language and tone.
Hold or book. Restaurant booking partners, cinema seat holds, and for trips a refundable hold with split payment. Optional USDC on Base split for groups that prefer it, with email-login smart wallets so crypto stays invisible.

4. Cost per use

About $0.003 to $0.01 per decision (short transcriptions, one extraction, one explanation).
Free: unlimited dinners and films, fairness memory. Paid ($3 a month per group): trip planning, split payments, history across groups.
Revenue: booking commissions from restaurants and venues ($1 to $2 per seated cover) and travel affiliate fees.

5. Growth loop

Every decision starts with an invite dropped into a group chat, so each use reaches 3 to 8 people. The verdict card is shared back into the chat. People who joined as guests start their own decisions with other groups.

6. Risks and guardrails

Dietary and accessibility needs are hard constraints, never outweighed.
Budget inputs are private; the group only sees "fits everyone's budget".
Fairness weights are capped (0.7x to 1.5x) and fully visible so they can't be gamed quietly.
Paid placement is never allowed to change the pick; sponsored options are labelled and scored the same.
